Competitors
Last updated [DATE]
Competitors are the brands you track next to your own. A project holds up to 10. Aivting suggests competitors for you to accept, edit or replace, and you can add your own. Only tracked brands count in share of voice and position.
How to: Add and remove competitors
Why the list matters
Two metrics depend on your competitor list.
- Share of voice divides your mentions by the mentions of all tracked brands. Add a competitor and your share can fall while your visibility stays the same. See Share of voice.
- Position is your order among tracked brands. A brand you do not track does not take position 1. See Average position.
Adding and removing competitors
- A competitor you add is counted only in answers collected after you add it.
- A competitor you remove drops out of every count, past ones included.
Keep the list stable for as long as you want to compare periods. Changing it mid-report changes what a share means.
Competitor sites
A competitor's own domain is classified as a competitor source, so it is not shown as a gap. See Source types and Gaps.
Limit
10 competitors per project. See Limits.
