    How Aivting works

    Last updated

Aivting collects the answers AI engines give to your prompts, finds which brands each answer names, and turns the counts into metrics. You choose the brand, the competitors and the prompts. Aivting does the repeating, the matching and the counting, and keeps the history.

    The five steps

    1. Project. One brand, its website, up to 10 competitors and a list of prompts. See Projects.
    2. Prompts. The questions your buyers would ask an AI engine, for example "what is the best invoicing tool for freelancers?". See Prompts.
    3. Runs. An owner or editor starts a run with Run now, or switches on automatic collection for the project. Aivting collects the answers each engine gives to every active prompt. Prompts run when you start a run. Automatic daily runs are on our roadmap. See Engines and collection.
    4. Detection. Aivting reads each answer once, at collection time, and records which tracked brands it names, in which order, and which sources it cites. See Brand detection.
    5. Metrics. Visibility, share of voice, average position, sentiment and the source views are computed from those records, always with n, the number of answers behind them. See Metrics overview.

    A worked example

Brindlepath (a fictional invoicing app) tracks two fictional competitors, Tarnfield and Corvane, with 10 prompts. One run collects 3 answers per prompt from one engine. That is 30 answers. Of those, 27 return usable text, so n is 27. Brindlepath is named in 9 of the 27, so its visibility is 9 of 27, or 33%.

The same 27 answers also tell you who is named first, which sites are cited, and which competitor is named when you are not. The dashboard shows all of it by day, filtered by the engine, dates and tags you pick.

    What to keep in mind

    • A day on the chart is the UTC date of the run.
    • Dashboard figures count active prompts only. See Prompts.
    • Answers vary between runs, so read trends over several days, not single answers. See Runs and answers.
