    Sentiment

    Last updated [DATE]

Sentiment is an average tone score from -100 to +100 across the answers that name your brand and carry a tone label. -100 is wholly negative, 0 is neutral and +100 is wholly positive. Sentiment is not available yet on live projects.

    How to: Read your dashboard

    Status

Sentiment is not available yet on live projects. Until it is, live projects show "Not available yet" instead of a score. The demo project shows sentiment with invented data, so you can see how the box, the chart and the report look. In the app the box is labelled "Sentiment" and described as an average tone score from -100 to +100, with the number of answers behind it.

    How it is calculated

Each answer that names your brand gets a tone score from -1 to +1. Sentiment is the average of those scores multiplied by 100, over answers that name the brand and have a tone label. Answers that do not name you, or have no label, are left out.

    Example

Three labelled answers have scores +0.5, 0 and -0.2. The average is 0.1, so sentiment is +10. Its n is 3, the labelled answers, not all answers.

    Things to know

    • It is an average, not "% positive minus % negative".
    • Its n can be smaller than the n of visibility, because only labelled answers count.
    • Tone is the tone of the answer about your brand, not a view of your company.
