Prompts
Last updated [DATE]
A prompt is a question you track, one that Aivting collects each engine's answers to, written the way a buyer would ask it, for example "which invoicing app is best for freelancers?". Each prompt has its own history, tags and search-demand bar.
How to: Add prompts · Import prompts from a CSV · Pause or remove a prompt
Active and inactive prompts
Only active prompts are collected, and only active prompts count in dashboard figures, the Sources panel and CSV totals. Pausing a prompt makes it inactive: it stops being collected and drops out of totals. Its past answers are kept, but they are not counted while it is inactive. Turn it back on and it counts again.
Writing a good prompt
- Write it as a buyer would type it, as a full question.
- Keep it under 500 characters.
- Track one question per prompt. "Best invoicing app and how much does it cost?" is two prompts.
- Add a few branded prompts (they name you or a competitor) and several non-branded ones (they do not), so you can compare the two groups. See Tags.
What you see per prompt
Visibility, average position, the answers that cite your site and sentiment, plus a search-demand bar. See Search demand and Metrics overview.
Limits
Prompts per project: up to 20 active prompts in the current version. You can import up to 200 rows at a time. See Limits and CSV import and export.
